Charles Weston was a section commander in C Company of the 5th Dublin Battalion of the Irish Volunteers. He fought in Meath and north Dublin during the Easter Rising, taking part in attacks on RIC Barracks in Swords, Donabate, Garristown and Ashbourne. He was interned in Knutsford Jail and Frongoch prison camp until December 1916 and rejoined the Volunteers upon his release. Weston was involved in a number of attacks and raids during the War of Independence and was interned on two occasions over the course of the conflict. He served with the National Army during the Civil War.
