A member of A Company in the Wexford Brigade of the Irish Volunteers, Denis Doran fought in Enniscorthy and Ferns during the Easter Rising. He participated in the commandeering, transport and storage of arms and ammunition during the week. Along with several other Enniscorthy rebels, Doran was sent to Stafford Jail on the 8th of May and was interned in Frongoch prison camp until December 1916.
