A member of E Company of the 2nd Dublin Brigade of the Irish Volunteers, Michael Brady was stationed in the General Post Office during Easter Week. After his arrest he was sentenced to death, but this was commuted to 3 years prison. He served his sentence in Dartmoor, Lewes and Frongoch and was released in 1917. He was active in the War of Independence and on the anti-Treaty side in the Civil War.
