Patrick Keogh was a member of the 4th Battalion in the Dublin Brigade of the Irish Volunteers. At the beginning of the Easter Rising, his horse and cart were used to transport munitions to Jameson’s Distillery on Marrowbone Lane, where Keogh himself was based during the week. Following the surrender, he was interned in Stafford Prison and rejoined the 4th Battalion upon his release. Keogh participated in both the War of Independence and the Civil War, rising to the position of Captain in the National Army on the latter occasion.
