John Faulkiner (also spelt Faulkner) was a member of B Company in the 1st Dublin Battalion of the Irish Volunteers. He fought in the Phibsborough and Cabra areas of Dublin during the Easter Rising. He was captured during the week and was sentenced to three years penal servitude but was released in June 1917. Faulkiner subsequently participated in the War of Independence and fought in Dublin at the beginning of the Civil War, taking the anti-Treaty side on the latter occasion.
